A Family-Run Passion in McMahan

A Family-Run Passion in McMahan

Crest Brewing Company is a family-run brewery and taproom opening in 2026 in the small community of McMahan, Texas. Led by father-and-son team Cody and Ryter, Crest Brewing was born from a shared passion for great beer, craftsmanship, and creating a place where people can come together. More than just a brewery, Crest is designed to be a welcoming gathering place where locals and travelers alike can slow down, connect, and enjoy a fresh pint.

The brewery is truly a family effort. Cody and his wife, Kelly, have six incredible children. Ryter has spent years developing his love for brewing. With Cody's support and encouragement, that passion has grown into the dream that is now Crest Brewing Company.

Many members of the family have helped bring the brewery to life. Ryter's brother, Beaux, an experienced brewer himself, contributed to the development of several beer recipes and handcrafted the beautiful bar tops that welcome guests into the taproom. Ryter's brother-in-law, Eric, has also played a significant role in shaping the property, helping build the fencing around the brewery and creating the custom sign that now stands proudly on the side of the building. Kelly made the bench seats you see all around the brewery. Their work, along with the countless hours contributed by family and friends, has helped transform a vision into a place the entire community can enjoy.

Every corner of Crest Brewing reflects the dedication, creativity, and hard work of the people who helped build it. From the beer in the glass to the details throughout the brewery, Crest is a testament to what can be accomplished when family, passion, and community come together.

our history

our history

Crest Brewing is housed in a refurbished auto garage that's more than 100 years old, giving new purpose to a building that has long been part of the McMahan community. While the space has been transformed into a modern brewery, much of its original character remains. The industrial bones of the building, its sense of place, and its connection to local history have been preserved and thoughtfully reimagined.

Inside, the brewhouse serves as the focal point of the taproom. Guests can watch the brewing process unfold in real time, from steam rising off the kettles to brewers moving grain and carefully monitoring each batch. Rather than hiding production behind walls, Crest Brewing embraces transparency, creating a direct connection between the people making the beer and the people enjoying it.

The former service bays that once housed automobiles are now home to stainless steel tanks and the daily rhythm of craft brewing. It's a space that honors McMahan's past while creating a gathering place for its future, bringing together history, community, and great beer under one roof.

Rooted in Community, Driven by Vision

Rooted in Community, Driven by Vision

Crest Brewing Company is a small, independently owned brewery rooted in the quiet community of McMahan, Texas. Founded by a father‑and‑son team, the vision behind Crest is simple: create a place where great beer and genuine hospitality come together under one roof. Rather than chasing mass distribution or gimmicks, the brewery is built around a “local first” philosophy—brewing on site, pouring on site, and building relationships with the people who sit at the bar, gather on the patio, and make Crest part of their regular routine.
