Where It All Begins: The Beer

Where It All Begins: The Beer

At Crest Brewing Company, everything starts with the beer. As a small, independent brewery in McMahan, Texas, we focus on microbrewed, small-batch beers that are brewed on-site from grain to glass. Our system is intentionally sized so we can pay close attention to every step of the process—milling, mashing, boiling, fermenting, and conditioning—ensuring that each batch meets our standards for flavor, balance, and freshness. With great beers on tap at any given time, every recipe has to earn its place.

A Flagship Lineup That Delights

Our flagship lineup of beers on tap is crafted to offer a range of styles without overwhelming the board. We anchor the list with an easy-drinking, approachable beer—often a crisp blonde or kölsch-style ale—that’s perfect for hot Texas days and for those who are new to craft beer. Clean fermentation, subtle hop character, and a smooth finish make it the kind of pint you can enjoy more than once in a sitting, whether you’re on the patio or at the bar watching the brewing action.

Citrus, Pine, and Perfection

Citrus, Pine, and Perfection

To showcase the heart of American craft brewing, we feature a hop-forward pale ale or IPA as a core offering. Rather than going for bitterness alone, we build these beers around aroma and flavor—citrus, pine, stone fruit, or tropical notes, depending on the hop blend. We work with a selection of quality hops and adjust each batch based on freshness and seasonal availability, aiming for a beer that’s bold and expressive without losing drinkability. It’s a chance to show what our brewhouse can do when hops take center stage.

Rich, Balanced, and Brewed Right

Rounding out the lineup, we often pour a malt-forward style-such as an amber, red ale, or brown-where caramel, biscuit, or roasted notes have room to shine. These beers are built for balance: enough malt character to be interesting, but still crisp enough to enjoy a full pint. They're especially satisfying when the evenings cool off or when you're pairing a beer with a hearty meal. The goal is to offer something that feels familiar yet elevated, with layers of flavor you notice more with each sip.

Where Creativity Meets Craft

We rotate a seasonal or experimental brew. This might be a lighter wheat beer with citrus in summer, a darker stout or porter in cooler months, or a one-off collaboration that lets us play with new ingredients, yeast strains, or techniques. Because we brew on a small scale, we can experiment without risking quality or consistency. When a seasonal recipe resonates with our regulars, it may find its way back into the rotation-or even become a new staple.

Philosophy on Every Pour

Philosophy on Every Pour

Behind every one of our taps is the same philosophy: brew with intention, keep it fresh, and make it worth coming back for. Our micro-brewed beers are unhurried, carefully monitored, and designed to be enjoyed right where they’re made. From the first pour of a crisp house ale to the last pint of a seasonal experiment, Crest Brewing Company aims to offer a focused, thoughtful beer experience that reflects both our craftsmanship and the character of McMahan, Texas.
